My active user resignation

Why am I boycotting this website? Well because apparently I’m an ******* and people done like ******** here because it ruins the club. This is me, this is how I am. I know I like to take control of things, sometimes I do it on purpose. What I did was point out something so blatantly obvious that people took offense. I‘m sorry the truth hurts. I took a chance and pointed out the flaws outright in the public. I do not own www.njfboa.org I am aware of this.

My current problem with this website is the amount of people on the board that are utterly useless and a waste of bandwidth. The name of the website is New Jersey F-Body Owners Association. I can understand there are some people on here that have owned multiple F-bodies in the past and would love to own another in the future. They at least have some knowledge of some possible helpful stories or ideas that they may have possible come across in their time. But now I am told that its for Enthusiasts. The dictionary defines an enthusiast as :

Quote:

  • n.
One who is filled with enthusiasm; one who is ardently absorbed in an interest or pursuit.

I don’t see any of these new kids under the age of legal driving age indulging their heads in books, magazines and attempting to learn as much as their little heads can handle. I can understand that they may learn a few things from the forum, but its really not enough. At least come into any car club knowing a few basics or facts. Not because you own one and think its pretty and all that. Its because you are hardcore, you love the car, you love the brand, you love the way it feels. By allowing these people your opening up a flood gate of people to join just because it looks pretty and they cant post. This would basically over-flow the knowing community of real enthusiasts and make it difficult to reach the people that actually know what their doing. That alone will drive people away from a club. Lets all invite are moms & dads, brothers & sisters just because a family member owns the particular car.

I have seen many successful car clubs go down the drain for this very reason. And I have seen many clubs become successful by limiting and selecting its members. Just take this as food for though.

I will not leave NJFBOA, What I will do is refrain from posting completely. I will lurk and show up to meets if & when I have time. I can be found hanging out with my regular group of friends from the north jersey section. If anyone has a question they can contact me by phone or online at anytime. I am sorry If I have insulted or hurt anyones feelings by my actions.

sorry to hear you feel that way man.
we want to provide an atmosphere that allows owners, friends, and fans of f-bodies to interact. this interaction we woudl like to promote here is not based on age, level of knowledge, or actual vehicle ownership.

i hope you will stick around the site and consider being involved in our activities in the future.

i am going to leave this thread up but locked.
if anyone woudl like to comment on any changes you woudl like to see in how teh club is managed please let tru2chevy or myself know through PM or on AIM.

thanks
tim
