Wow, now we're cookin'!
did a few simple mods to the Formula and pushed it up to a bad a$$ 161 RWH!! That is a G-tech number, hoping for some chassis dyno time in a week or so. That is up from 138 with just these mods
K&N X-stream lid K&N Filter Dual snorkel HO air cleaner Cheap ass Ebay muffler I think the biggest gain is in the fact it can run to redline now, it doesn't fall on it's face at 4000RPM. Not to bad for 210,000 miles. Next up is a good tuning and T/B cleaning. |
converter, gears, tires then hit the track with it :)

even a small 2600 converter with tires will help alot at the track.

I wouldnt trust that Gtech as far as I can throw my house.

Gtech told me my camaro made 68 Horsepower but could run 13.89 @100. I can believe the times are close, but the horsepower thing pissed me off. And then it told me once when i was messin with it that I was pushing 670 horses....god i wish that were true.
I actually found the 1/4 mile timer to be pretty accurate. Told my buddy he was gonna run a 14.30.....he went to the track and ran 14.2x's Told another buddy he was gonna run 15.89....he ran 16.0 I think they are pretty damn close in that sense |
G-tech has always been close for me, how did you set it up? Mine was within a few ponies and .3 at the track on the trans-am

small.....2600 stall converter?
Maybe its the LS1's amazing power....but 2600 aint that "small" IMO. |
2600 is a pretty small converter. I have a 2400 in the Chevelle, and its going to be in the garbage REAL soon. Ill be tossing it out for atleast a 3700. if your car can handle it and you can come into the power ban real fast...then why not. Depends on your car, driving style and money. Whatever you do try to get a better converter. From personal experiences stay away from TCI or B&M. I have a B&M in the chevelle now and its coming out within the month. Set your car up suspension wise, then call up ATI converters tell them what you have, what you wanna do with it, and they will build you one!

The whole thing with the Gtech is you have to find a road where there arent trees right up to the pavement, (Middle of a Field is perfect) set it to your cars weight with driver and let it fly when it says GO. DO your best trying to launch as you would at the track and dont let off till the time blinks. Also if you boil the hides let off and start over....it EFFs things up sometimes. The main thing is doing it where theres nothing the radar can bounce off of. Thats what caused my 10.65 @ 91 MPH pass...
