Going to look at my next car tomorrow.....

a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO. i've always liked how they looked, and the sleeper potential of them is a bonus. Plus, it's a Taurus, so my parents will never know it's the high performance model. it has 97K miles on it, and costs only $2999. my budget is $3000.....perfect! i'll let everyone know how it goes.

Correct me if Im wrong, but in 95, wasent a 5speed available?

12secondv6 03-04-2005 07:55 AM

I had a sable..... master cylinder failed on me while driving

Did you know.... their is a message board for those cars?

taurus car club of america or something!

SHO = win....you'd probably beat me in a race :(

Untamed 03-04-2005 08:33 AM

Go buy a GN. You could tell your parents its just a buick. And besides, its boxy like a volvo so must be safe.

you find me a halfway decent Grand National for $3000, and then we'll talk.

the SHO's were available with 5-speeds. the manual cars got a 3.0L V6, while the autos got a 3.2L V6. hmmmm.....higher displacement.

BigAls87Z28 03-04-2005 08:49 AM

Not for 3g's he aint getting no GN!!

My other car would be an SHO. By far the most annoying and unreliable car ever built but what a great motor. If you ever need any help with performance parts (tuning even) I can help. My friend has had 3 since high school. I also know (through him) 3 other friends that own them. I've also rebuild a 5 speed transmission and pretty much done a tone of work on em... because they always need it  .
A friend got his 89 SHO to do a 14.6 with only a chopped up trash receptical homebuilt cold air intake. That was at Atco, and then on his best 60' he broke a half-shaft... so be nice with the car and beat the piss out of the motor 8)

oh well... the car was sold already.

the next thing i'm looking at is a 1993 Stealth R/T. I don't know if it's turbo, but it looks to be in good condition. hopefully i can check it out sometime this weekend.

Untamed 03-04-2005 03:47 PM

Wait a minute... you cant have an f-body, but you'll look at a Stealth? :?

EVIL90SS 03-04-2005 03:48 PM

BigAls87Z28 03-05-2005 08:55 PM

The AWD TT Stealths and 3000GT's are doooooooooooogs. They easily tip over 2 tons, and for just abotu 300hp...thats a lot of mass to move.

well considering a ton is 2000lbs meaning 2 would equal 4000lbs and our cars weigh 3600-3800 add an awd system and BAM! 2 tons lol

skorpion317 03-06-2005 12:19 AM

they're about 3800 lbs.

they're more of a grand touring car than an actual sports car. their interiors are more comfortable than most Japanese sports cars.

however, I'm sure some weight reduction would be in order if i got one
