Just don't run the sensor too far back. It needs heat to work, and too far away it'll get cold and 'lazy' in it's response.

That coolant temp sensor you swapped locations isn't just a display, right? It's part of the Sniper EFI? It's real possible that the 'tune' is now off due to it seeing much higher coolant/engine...

You could always use that tank/pump combo to run...
You could always use that tank/pump combo to run all the vacuum stuff so that you have a strong reliable vacuum signal to run your interior stuff, and the hoses could be hidden nicely in the fender...

Maybe check your throttle linkage and make sure you're getting WOT when you hit the pedal? Also check the TPS if the mechanical side of things is right.
