for n/a use the ls6 heads are ok, but you have to build the engine to work with that counted in. Â*For s/c use, ported 6.0l heads with aftermarket valves are said to be fine. Â*the ls6 heads make the compression higher than ideal for a blower(usually should be around 8.5:1) I'm doing some type of special blower heads, i set aside $2500 for those(probably more than i need but just to be safe), once i get closer to my project thats when ill figure out exatly what brand/kind.

From everything ive read, the difference between lq4 and lq9 is just the heads, so the blocks are the same. The weight difference between the aluminum ls1 and iron LQ can almost be completely taken care of by switching to tubular front a arms and k member. Â*For my motor, Â*i'm doing a 4.125" stroker crank to get a displacment in the 422 area with a overbore of .030 and then with all the engine work(cam, valvetrain, heads, exhaust), i should put out around 600hp n/a. Â*The rotating assembly alone is 3400. once thats set i'm doing an ATI F1 blower w/ the twin aftercoolers. Â*In my talks with ATI, they said with that setup i should be easily capable of putting down over 850rwhp...and possibly 1000 with a little more effort and $, i guess we'll see next spring

Also with the LQ series, ive heard that some of the front engine accesory holes are different from an LS1 but i dont know for sure, if so, i will make the modifications either with new brackets or whatever for mine.
