the threat of that action several years ago is what started a lot fo the tracks actually enforcing the 90db rules. that noise level is actually legislated as the federal legal highway limit and it is the noise limit for nhra stock class racing(at tracks that bother to enforce it

none of this woudl stop legal racing, jsut send a few people who only bought their exhaust based on making the most noise possible to tracks in more rural areas that don't enforce db rules.
