572ci GM crate motor....fuel injection?
My mind has been changing more times than i can shake a stick at when it comes to an engine choice for my planned project Camaro. I originally wanted a 427 C5R motor in it, then a step down to a 402, then another step down to a 383. I've decided to throw all caution to the winds. I want to top Jon Moss' ZL1 Camaro.
call me crazy (you know you want to). I want the 572ci GM Performance Parts crate motor for the thing - the race version. 720 HP.
i know the Moss ZL1 had a 572 (which was later swapped for a Donovan block, with somewhere around 582 or more cubes) which put out 770 HP. I'm not worried about power output with this engine. I want to get it somewhere around 900 or so HP, enough to push me into the eights (the ZL1 ran a best of 9.55). and that's 900 on the motor, before the planned nitrous shot.
now, here comes the really crazy stuff. The ZL1 was fuel-injected. I plan on my 572 going the same route. I also want it to have a couple separate fuel maps so that I can run it on pump gas when i feel like having a little more control on the street, and switch over to race gas for the track.
Are there any resources i can find about swapping a fuel-injection system onto the 572? does anybody know off the top of their heads what systems would even work with that monster?
