Ugh....that car was a money pit. Bought it with a blown head gasket, fixed that myself. Then less than a month after that it lost a main bearing, so I decided to
rebuild a 2.8. I was 17, and obviously not too bright. After buying a crank, having the rods reconditioned, etc - the motor ran for almost 2 months before developing rod knock. Drove it for another 6 months.

Dad and I took it apart, found out that one of the oiling passages in the block was completely blocked off, and that's what caused all the trouble. Sold the car for $150 to some drug dealer I went to high school with. (He sat outside for 45 minutes trying to start it - the battery was disconnected, the oil pan wasn't on, and the motor hadn't had oil in it for 3 months.)
