Bill, when we're talking about a few hundreth of a second, sometimes all it takes is a $700 part . I agree completely, it's definatly not cost effective when looking for bang for the buck. Then again how much has he spent all in all to get to where he is now when an LS1 stock would have... point being cost is all relative to the goal, not the small gains. Just like gears might cost $600 to get and have installed which will gain you 2 tenths with a stock car but as you get faster it might be worth 4-8 tenths. Same goes for the carbon fiber driveshaft and aluminum flywheel. Those too parts are the best of the best. The only trade off being the cost. When you want to go fast, sometimes you have to pay for it. I think it would be worth the investment to get an aluminum flywheel. The CF driveshaft is down the road but not that far down if he's chasing a n/a v6 record.
