But seriously, if you have a built combo, manually picking gears can get you better times at the track. The Megashifter is a ratchet shifter, so once it is in a forward gear, you can smack it as hard as you want, and it will only move up one gear at a time.

Usually you have to combine it with a manual valve body in an auto trans to get it to snap into gear quicker, instead of the typical 700r4's lazy 1-2 shift.
