i don't really like teh sounds of that motor. they use a lot of stock stuff on what is supposed to be a high performance motor and it is also just a edelbrock power package pre-assembled for you.
i also do not see anything on the site that mentions a dyno sheet coming with teh motor, which any good performance builder should supply, and there is also no mention of a warranty that i can find on the site. that is another thing that any good builder would offer.
a 6spd swap is a cool idea. manual is more fun in day to day driving than an auto. i woudl suggest looking for a wrecked LT1 6spd car though. you can grab everythign you need right off it and just have to make minor modifications to the tranny crossmember to install. you could also source a lot of 5spd 3rd gen stuff from a salvage yard(flywheel, pedals, console top) and just get a 6spd with hydraulics to place in there. eitehr way would not cost a ton of money and most good salvage places will offer short term warranties on used trannies.
