that is exactly what my old stock motor started doing. One of the lifters seized up, at idle it would run fine but then miss when you reved it. You gotta pull the intake to take out the lifters.
You must realize that hydraulic roller lifters simply don't fail for no good reason. When mine did I pulled the whole cam out and my cam bearings were worn down to the copper
the whole motor was at fault.
