ok, my SS is still off the road, i just cleaned out my fuel system, there was something in my gas but not sure what exactly, but i fired the car up and still something is wrong. the OBDII codes dont really help much. all i got was a injection circuit malfunction and engine cylinder misfires, nothign more specific. anyway, today i finally pulled the cats back offf to track down where the fuel is pouring out from. When i pulled the drivers side, i found like an oily think substance, not oil though im pretty sure. i pulled the pass side and its reasonably clean and dry, so now i know the problem is on the drivers side. the cat seems fine and i put a flashlight in one end and i can see some light through it, so i know its not collapsed. from under the car i can look into the drivers side header and there is the oily black buildup in there too. and from the looks of it, it seems to be coming down from the #5 cylinder primary, possibly some from #3 as well, but 1 and 7 are dry. Now im thinking i could have a stuck or leaky injector, possibly caused by the bad fuel. My neighbors, a mechanic, came over and , we reluctantly decided to try to start the car with open headers just to see if the car ran better without the cats... BIG MISTAKE, lol, the result make me think about an open injector even more now, considering I almost barbacued my SS,

luckily the front was on jack stands and the fire was mainly in a puddle on the ground and inside the collector of the header, and i lost by garage blanket i was using to lay on, lol. anyway...how can i check if an injector is bad or stuck open? is there an easy way? can i check the OHM resistance somehow? I already pulled the fuel rail and injectors from my ls1 parts motor and im going to change the #3 and #5 injectors, put the cats back on the car and see if therees any difference, just to make sure will any ls1 injectors work? i think my parts motor is a 99 or 2000, and my ss is a 2001, from what i know other stuff changed but the injectors should all be the same for an LS1... i just hope this solves my problems... if not, then i dunno...
