i can only feel a certain amount towards this end. it's a chosen profession; no one is born into cop slavery or anything. so while they lay their life on the line everyday (not everyday, but you never know what might happen) they
chose to lay their life on the line.
i feel the same way about judges. some lawyers get it into their heads that one day they'll be judges, but not everyone who gets into law thinks that way. you hear about a judge getting death threats and what-not, but no one twisted his arm to accept the appointment.
