If you read the thread at the actual site, that Supra has 1000rwhp. Also, apparently the guy in the Ford GT wasn't really racing the second time or something. The first time, he just slowed down for traffic.
The guy in the Supra never caught cause he was running street tires. He kept spinning out.

i don't know how many 1000 HP supras i've seen that only run 12s, because they run such ungodly amounts of boost that the turbo lag kills their ET.
i don't care if he was running on street tires or not. he still lost.

actually, its not so much the turbo lag...its the lack of traction from first through...4th gear
its really hard to get wide slicks in the back of them without hacking it all up, thats the problem.

I see at as it is... it's the peaky torque curve. Those things are hard to drive because of the boost coming in as hard as it does. It's the same with those turbo motorcycles, it's the exact same thing when the Supra's are making 1000hp. Imagine having to jab the throttle to spool up the car then back off the throttle while you're accelerating as the boost comes on just to keep the tires from going up in smoke. That is why they're slow and why I'd rather have a 600hp Supra than a 1000hp Supra

. One is a lot easier to drive and is that much faster when it comes to stop light racing.
