yes, people with military experience are, generally, better disciplined and more willing to do whatever it takes and for less money. by no means am i saying that people without military background are slackers, thats far from true. but if you were to line up a former marine and a civilian, with the same qualifications and abilities i would take the marine (or any service member for that) over the civilian every time. why? because that person has already proven themselves to be dedicated, hard working, team oriented, able to follow orders etc. now i know that there are plenty of former military that get out as **** bags, thats true but hiring someone is a crap shoot and you are pretty much guessing since most people put up fronts when interviewing. so, you have to go off of what you can establish to be reasonably true, which is what i listed about former military above, since you have no way of ascertaining that about the civilian. anyways, this job is still open, we are two people short and its a great oportunity.
