call the court clerk monday, explain the situation (without giving your name, if possible) including the concert and beg her for mercy. Â*she might just give it, and you'll get a new court date.
if that doesn't work, you're going to have to come up with a more plausible excuse why you can't make it to court. Â*try not to give your name, just in case it doesn't work, again, so you can try something else later.
whatever you do, either get the date changed or show up to the court date - don't decide to just not show up. Â*the judge could decide to just write a bench warrant, in which case you'll have to pay a contempt fee. Â*one of my step-sons used to handle his court dates like this and he ended up paying hundreds of dollars more in contempt fees. Â*judges would like you to at least be responsible about the court date. Â*while the fees vary from court to court, i saw a judge hand out $100 contempt fees like he was passing out candy. Â*and if you couldn't pay, you got to spend the night in the lock up. Â*
