As for total control, a lot of people dont mind giving that up. If they wrap it in a "Terrorist" type clause, people woudl applaud the idea. No one is too scared about some of the laws passed recently that were said to keep us safe from "them".

i completely agree, all the gov has to do is "sugarcoat" a bad idea and the general public will believe it. thats like the gov saying "alright no one in the USA is allowed to have guns, because a terrorist could break into your house at any moment and steal those guns and kill you and your family" (i know its a bad example but u get the jist)
