Without getting too much into this topic:

1. Affirimative Action helps middle and upper class racial minorities the most. It gives them the "boost" over their white and asian peers who went to the same schools. Instead of targeting racial groups, they should target socio-economic groups. A white who goes to school in Camden has the same handicap as a black does. Instead of helping those who truly need it, it just places a divide based on race.

2. While a young lass in Engineering school, there was a female colleague with worse grades than me (I didn't think it possible). She got summer job after job and full-time offer after FT offer after graduation. When asked how she managed to do it when the rest of us were struggling, she grabbed her ample busom and said "Cause of these. 'Equal Opportunity' is a bitch sometimes but I'll use every advantage I can."

3. AA targets the wrong age bracket. Instead of "dumbing down" entrants to the college level, they (Liberals) need to focus on bringing these kids up to the level of the "white" kids. The focus should be intervention earlier.

4. For those who went to colleges with an AA program, have you ever noticed the "minorities" clicking themselves off from everyone else? If the purpose of AA and letting in less qualified applicants is to enrich the student population then shouldn't those "let in" be integrated into the student body instead of forming their own sub-culture?

5. How many people let in under AA go back into the communities they came from and help out? How many doctors set up shop there? Or how many get the good job and leave the "old hood" behind? How is this helping the community?

AA is one of those "good intentions" experiments that failed. Some call it "white guilt" for what happened years before many of our ancestors even emigrated here. If you want to truly help people because they can't help the parents they were born to, base AA strictly off of your parents income level and the schools you went to. No one from Princeton, Moorestown, or Cherry Hill should qualify for AA regardless of race as you will get an outstanding education as long as you show up. Likewise anyone from Newark or Camden should qualify as they truly went through hell just to make it to graduation.
