You can never go wrong with a retriever, especially for meeting ladies.
They are almost always friendly and good dogs. I picked the lab (brown labs are nice too) b/c they have shorter hair. Shedding sucks.
IMO, stay away from the pitbull, unless you are driving a 'slade with dubs, or you (or your parents, since I guess you live with them) want to get sued when the dog bites the **** out of someone. And it will chase the ladies away.
