I think I started the Pacesetter header install on my 96 SS almost a full month ago. It's still not done and ready yet. So I was thinking what was the problem and why am I not done yet? Oh yeah, the list of excuses:
- early Dec was wayyyy too cold in the garage to lay on the ground(35 degrees inside the garage)
- tweaked back big time shoveling snow, 1 week delay there
- decided to do the motor mounts while the exhaust was out of the way(that's an easy 1 week delay while waiting for the parts)
- stupid Xmas holiday so I had to shop for gifts(still too cold in garage)
- couldn't separate y-pipe from cat-back so had to cut the pipe(I could only get the sawzall 3/4 way through due to the pipe in the tunnel so I had to finish with a hacksaw blade by hand)
- too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
- wrong transmission in car(4L60E from an Astro Van!) so I had to hacksaw off the "ear" to get the passenger side header up into place
- too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
- EGR fitting was lined up in the way with the trans dipstick tube. Couldn't get the bolt loose holding the trans and dipstick tube to engine so I had to use the hacksaw blade by hand to cut the bracket
- too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
- Xmas
- got sick for a week
So hopefully the excuses are over and I'll get the job done within the next week. Although there seems to be a recurring theme!
