it isn't about ripping anything out, it is about not having it there in the first place. my interest in the solstice is for stock class racing. that severely limits any cutting or removing of parts from the car.
50lbs is a good amount of weight to carry around a track and will effect performance. every major series and sanctioning body measures to the thousandth for general timing and most can confirn times for margain of victory to the 100-thousandth of a second. 50lbs, or even 5 lbs for that matter, is certainly enough weight to make a difference of .001 second over the course of a lap.
if i was interested in more pedestrian use for the car only i wouldn't care if it was there or not. it is certainly a great safety feature for the street and everyone can certainly benefit from stability control on the road. my interest however is in racing, weight and electronic performance limits are not good for my purposes.
my desire to not have stability control on teh car is no different than when you bought your Maxx. you wanted certain features and styling at a certain price point, that is all i woudl like. if i can get it in a package as cool as the solstice that is great, if not, as i stated before, i will look for something else instead.
