i know what GM is in business for, all i talked about was how i would like to buy the car. why is it so hard to comprehend that i want to buy the car a certain way? if you buy a new car you want the features and price you want, so what is different when i say how i want it?
the solstice will be a class killer in autocross regardless. it is far more advanced than the Z4 and Miata that have dominated the stock classes of the SCCA for years. only thing that will cause any grief in full road racing is the lack of a "factory" hard top(relates to roll cage requirements), but i am sure it won't take GM or an approved aftermarket supplier long to correct that.
it is also funny to me that some say no one would ever buy a stripped down car. chrysler sold over 10,000 ACR neons(manual everything, no radio, no a/c) without ever advertising the package, on the STi(when the options were still available) the #1 request of special ordered vehicles was to not have an a/c.
i am not saying this would be a sales leader for the car, but it certainly has it's market. it happens to be the car i woudl like to see and compete in. as i said before, if i can't get it the way i want, i will just shop for something else.
the people who want a car to cruise around in can have it. that isn't my interest, in case you hadn't noticed.
