Excellent advice. You want to be sure that you are in control of the nitrous at all times, or you risk some spectacular damage. A purge valve is simple to set up, you do it just like your nitrous solenoid. It's merely a low power (read:cheaper) solenoid hooked up early in the line. If you can get your hands on a good quality used nitrous solenoid all you have to do is plumb it in and wire it up. However, I bought my NOS brand purge kit off of ebay for $60 new and I really don't see you you can do it for less than that.
