if you pull one plug wire off at a time ( it will bite you if you dont loosen them the ( wires ) up first and have rubber handle plires to use ) their will be a difference in the way the car idles with all the cylinders that are running with ( out ) any problems than a simple compression test --- if you dont have that another way if you have compressed air is with some one helping blow in the plug hole after finding what cylinder is your problem with air, of course with dist cap off align the rotor with the location of the bad cylinder and listen at the tail pipe first see if you can hear air coming out than try the intake dfi carb what ever if one is making an air noize you have a bad valve a sticky lifter will almost always click and clack when missing and lastly a vacume gague conected to the intake look at the gague if the dial is swinging wildly back and forth or the number is very low need more info best i can do with what you have explained jz
