Actually, if I had it to do all over again, I would have just had my stock engine rebuilt to 383 cubes with an Eagle rotating assembley, big cam, good stage 2 heads and a 90mm intake. Nowadays you can easily make 500rwhp, which is perfect for the street and would be pretty cheap. If you want more power then spray it. I would never get an iron block. One of the things that attracted me to LS1's is that they are so light. Yeah, you can lighten the front end, but you can do that with an aluminum block and be so much lighter.
