Bill, you haven't been there long enough to see where the real fat is. I know people who work for the state that make $60-75K a year, are lucky if they put in 35 hours a week, they have accumulated over 300 vacation days so they can "retire" early and still get 25-30 holidays a year. I've worked with these people in the past and the state has hired thousands more since I last worked there. It costs the state millions of dollars to carry these vacation days that people accumulate. It's also the jobs like Codey's brother that need to be stopped as well. But I'm baffled as to where all the money is going. The roads are crap, the services are lacking, our property taxes are out of control. So where the hell is this money going? So now Corzine wants to raise the sales tax yet he's going to also create property tax reform? I don't think so. And our standard increase is 3% if and only if our company makes a profit and there's enough left over after paying stockholders. Plain and simple, the state needs to be more efficient or start reducing costs.
