i have always run fronts at 50-60psi at the track. i inflate them there and deflate before i head home. never had any problems at all with any kind of tire, short duration doesn't put enough heat in the tire to cause any trouble, even on the hottest day of summer it is fine.
street radials i wouldn't go much below 27ish psi. below that you will see the belt start to cup and you will be losing tread contact area.
