I would say just go talk to the prosecutor on the day of your court date. Up to you whether you want the extra insurance of bringing a lawyer.
I recently got my first speeding ticket (I'm 24). The ticket was for 59 in a 50, but I was actually clocked at 68. The prosecutor dropped it to unsafe (which they can only two twice in NJ in a 5 year period). The judge actually commended me on my otherwise clean record (knocks on wood).
As the others said, dress nice (khakis and a button down are fine), be polite, always refer to the judge as "Your Honor" and everyone else as Sir or Ma'm.
Pretty sure that you'll get off the hook - this time. Municipal courts could care less if you get points on your license. But they love charging you a fee to remove those points...
