Its been in cars for a while. Engine computers store information for a very long time. If and when your engine throws a code, the computer locks in what hapend, date and time, current speed, RPM, as well as temperature, etc.
I forgot who said it, but in the other thread, they said they had no problem with the goverment tapping your phone and info, because you have nothing to hide, but now they are tapping into your driving, where we sometimes do break the law. Its the same thing, goverment is invading your privacy, for the sake of "saftey" or whatever.
Just like tapping phones is helping trap terrorists, tapping cars will help keep speeders and other bad drivers off the road...keeping everyone safe. Arent you willing to give up your privacy for that?
