The problem with lifting weights is that you are tearing mucle and stretching it to build it up. As soon as you stop lifting, those muscles will start droop. Look at any former weight lifter or body builder. The Terminator is downright scary looking now. But he's looking to stay healthy, not turn into The Rock! If your goal is to stay healthy to avoid a heart attack then doing some moderate weights a couple times a week will help but it's mainly cardio type activities and proper eating that will keep you healthy.
