No.

Limited slip is the generic term. Different companies have/had different names for their limited slip units:

Chevy- Posi-Traction
Ford - Traction-Lok
Pontiac - Safe-T-Trak
Mopar- Sure-Grip

Etc...

They are ALL limited slip differentials. The rear wheels can spin at different rates to allow smooth cornering.

"POSI" is a slang term for limited slip, like Jell-o is for gelatin or Coke is for cola.


A SPOOL is NOT a differential in that it does not allow the wheels to spin at different speeds. Both tires spin at the same speed, period. You will drag the outside tire in a turn.
