and ted, if you are at a bar getting your own drink don't you drop the bartender a tip? Same concept if you are being served and they are bringing you drinks you tip them for their service. I do however agree if you aren't drinking you shouldn't be responsible for that part of the tab. but if your meal is 5 bucks and your soda is 2 bucks and you get dessert for 5 bucks and the total is 12, just leaving 1 dollar and saying it's 10% is pretty weak. Leave an extra 3 bucks and help out with the tip.

I agree with tipping a bartender, what I'm saying is when we go out usually the older people are the ones that get the alcohol, so the people who get the alcohol should be covering that part of the tip. So I'm glad you got my point.
As far as people putting in $1 for their tip with a $12 meal or whatever..I agree that is wrong.
ps. Noah, I wasn't talking about you guys, if whoever wants to throw in extra money, thats fine, I was referring to the people that tip based on bra size who expect everyone else to do the same
