bellhousings from a 3rd gen v8 are different then a bellhousing from a 3rd gen V6. Bellhousings can be swapped though.
As for the tranny internally? I'm not sure. I guess they would have different gear ratios for one. And the V8 T-5 should be stronger then a v-6 .. oh wait a minute .. T5's aren't strong at all. ....
