a paper showing the collector car market and how out of control it is could be interesting. barret-jackson is pretty open about letting people research the market, i think mecham(sp?) and the other auction companies are as well.
the major points you coudl spend a few pages each on could be the boom in the muscle car market, the advent of clone/recreation cars as a part of that market, price vs inflation/new car value of both of those points, the reaction of the major auto manufacturers to reinvent the muscle car feeling in the modern market.
you could even spin in the information about the kit car and reproducion parts market and how out of control their prices are getting too.
there is tons of info available about documentation and collector value. throw a few poll results and quotes from magazines like muscle car enthusiast and hemmings about the value scale of certain very rare vehicles and you wold have as many pages as you coudl ever need.
interesting topic, just your mention of it puts me on the brink of collector car investor rant mode. lol
