for straight line traction the bigest thing is weight transfer. alowing the front of the car to come up and sit that weight to plant the rear tires is what it wants. the trade off is a loss of handling, which i loved in that car.
the band aid solution would be to see hwo smal a diameter rim you can get to clear your rear brakes and through some drag radials it isn't a perfect solution, but it would be a huge improvement.
