cbrrmike- i dont like the yankees either, but i love razzing yankee fans and their Derek Jesus hahaha

Trust me guys, I agree with you yankee fans on some things. Do I think Derek Jeter is a great player? Yes, he is a great player. Do I think A-Rod is a great player? Yes, I do. Do I think A-Rod is a great Yankee? No, I don't. I think coming to NYC was the worst possible thing for A-Rod and his career. Before coming to NYC A-Rod was a role model for all of baseball (not saying Jeter isn't) A-Rod was off to a record SHATTERING career before coming to NYC. True, A-Rod did volunteer to move to 3rd; why? To try to please Yankee fans. It's not that A-Rod didn't want to fit in, he wasn't allowed to. From day one A-Rod was rejected, there was unhealthy competition from the beginning between A-Rod and Jeter. Do play devil's advocate as well, you said home runs dont make a baseball player; this is true, I think Barry BALCO Bonds is a joke. While Derek is a dangerous player for his knack of getting on base, he is not/was not the main targeting point for opposing pitchers. Jeter sees better pitching with other guys in the lineup i.e. Giambi, A-Rod, etc. Power yields respect which in turn is less pitches to hit. Jeter isn't even the best SS in baseball anymore.
I think I'd have 50 errors in 3 seasons if I moved to a position I'd never played before in the MLB. It's tough to learn a new position at that level with balls in the infield well over 100mph off the bat and no fans behind you.
While alot of what I'm saying is trivial BS to get into a yankee fight one thing I am wholeheartedly going to disagree on is the Jeter to Mick, Ruth, Joe D comparison. Jeter is a great player, been on great teams, kept a good image for baseball overall. In my opinion hes a smug ass, but we're entitled to think what we want right? Mick changed the game, and in a metaphoric sense Ruth MADE the game. Jeter has had a great career; Jeter has a loyal, cult type fan base, but has not changed the game of baseball like those men did. Next thing I'm gonna hear is Jeter was a better hitter than Ted Williams....please pease don't say it lol.

As much as I love bs'in over the Yankees and irkin their fans, I do wish them luck I am a baseball fan in purity to the game not just a team or player. And for both his own sake and the team I hope A-Rod produces the numbers he is capable of (i.e. .330BA 45hr) and gets the ring he so desperately needs to be accepted and respected in NYC. I've never heard of fans turning their backs on their own players like this before. It's not that I'm a die hard A-Rod fan, I just think his treatment has been wrong. And his comments in public yea....they might not be the best thing to say, but I don't blame him. Really...is he doing anything different to you than you are to him, just turning your back? A-Rods public 'harassments' not interviews are a sign that NYC has won, you've broken the mans confidence and scarred his dignity. His statements say the same thing to me, you might all hate me, boo me, think i suck, you cast me out, turned the other way, taken my pride, broken my confidence, but at least I got your money. Because in the end, at least at this rate, staying in pinstripes will leave A-Rod with nothing but the money...
