From my experience with a few of them at work. The garmin nuvi 350 works the best but it still a bit pricey. However, you get what you pay for.

On the cheaper models, the system does noy voice prompt the street you need to turn onto. It has it displayed but I would rather keep my eyes on the road. Also, the accuracy of position is important too. Sometimes I would be on the road doing what it wants but it's maybe accurate to 20ft in all directions with the cheaper model...leading to a screw up.

Go with a nice midrange garmin unit and be done with it. I will be purchasing one for my vehicles soon.
