My favorite example in tools music is the fibonacci sequence in the song Lataralus. How many musicians would have a) thought to use it, and b) made it work so seamlessly that people don't notice what their listening to? Their music is about making you think, and if you don't have that ability, then i can understand why you wouldnt appreciate the music.
