Matter of fact business is so slow here I am looking for a PT job and dusted off my resume and started sending it out.

Sorry to hear about your business. I've been at a crossroads with my job; been teaching at the lowest paying district in Bergen County for the last nine years. I thought about quitting and going into business for myself, but after hearing your story I may re-think it. Last year I made somewhere around 50K (between teaching and all the side work I do), and we survived. My wife was out of work last year since we just had a baby girl. I also have a 4-year old boy, a mortgage, plus all the utilities and whatnot. But my wife and I put down a good amount on our house, and bought it six years ago before the prices went insane. The monthly payment on our house is less than what some people pay to rent an apartment in trendy places like Hoboken. You can live on $50K with a family of four, but you certainly won't be spending $10K of it to buy a new motor, taking long expensive vacations, or any other non-necessities. Family is priority numero uno. Now my wife is back to work, so things are looking up. Gotta save $$ now for the additions on our house; need an extra bedroom and a new garage.
