And the reason that Tyler is rarely laid off is because compared to a Journeyman, he doesn't make crap. So it's cheaper to pay guys like him on a job site.

those are the classes i was talking about. you dont need them in a union, and they wouldnt matter if you took them anyway. being an apprentice doesnt always mean youre the last guy on the job. i was laid off plenty of times as an apprentice. ive gone before other app. who were getting paid more then me, just because theyre in tight with the company, have family there, etc. ive been laid off as a 1st year before a 5th year went.
