That's what I am in the process of doing. I learned more about the car tonight and saw pics of it. Not in bad shape at all. It looks like a 15 year old restoration, as best I can tell from the pics. The build sheet does exist and the current owner has it. I don't believe the car has changed hands since the late 80's/early 90's. Original 4spd and 12-bolt still with the car. Original block was replaced under warranty and supposedly there is paperwork to support this. I have first shot at the car (so I am told?), but it's not officially for sale just yet as some other unrelated details need to be worked out first. So that works to my advantage, maybe it will allow me to keep the Firechicken.
It has all the "SS" badges (not big deal really), and hood. There is no A/C, which is consistent with the L-78 option. Power disc brakes upfront look to be original to the car. Definitely a big block radiator in it. Buckets with a Hurst T-handle (not original) poking up from the floor, no console in sight. Typical aftermarket 3-gauge setup hanging under the dash. Looked like an Eddy performer RPM intake with gold Moroso air cleaner and chrome Moroso tall valve covers with the "T" bolts

. The engine almost looks small in that engine bay.
Off to the garage to finish my Nova........The Chevelle got my juices flowing again for the Nova.
