Is this car also going to see street use? If so, are street manners going to be an issue?

Do you intent to keep the computer/fuel injection? if you are, then one of the first things I'd look at is the intake, the TPI is not really a good unit for racing. The longer runners are ment for midrange torque, not high RPM / HP. you could work around it somewhat, but you'd need to select the parts that match the RPM range you are going to be operating in. What is your budget like? The TPIS miniram or equivelent is the first thing I would look at if you want to go into the 12's..

Once you decide on your induction you can start to pick heads, cam, convertor ect.

Also remember you are going to need all the supporting parts as well, maybe a different fuel pump, bigger injectors, throttle body etc. Make sure you plan for all this stuff too so you don't empty your budget 1/2 thru the build.
