posted in the road race forum, but ill add it here so more people can see. we're trying to get a bunch of guys together for one, if not more, autoxs at giants stadium. the first run is sunday, march 9, 8am. $45 for non members, $35 if you joined. the first race is a test&tune, no points, so there shouldnt be much of a problem getting everyone into our own sub-class, so we can compete against each other. its a full day, and you get on the average 8-9 runs. decent people, you can learn alot of stuff, have some fun, and learn theres more to life then just a straight line.
here's the schedule so far:
sun. 3/9 test & tune
sun. 3/16
sun. 3/23 "tentative", whatever that means
sun. 3/30
sun. 4/6
fri. 4/25 am school, pm autox
fri. 5/23 same
fri. 6/6 same
sun. 6/8
fri. 7/25 am school, pm autox
they usually add a few more in august and oct. the sunday runs start at 8 (get there by 730 to be safe). the friday runs start autox at 2
heres the site of the group that runs the show. you have to go to a diff. site and create a garage, to register your car. its not the easiest, but if you follow the directions, its fairly self explanatory.

they have helmets to loan if you dont have one. autos can race too, its just not quite as fun. you dont need anything special. for your first event you get an instructor for your first and/or second runs. if anyone is interested or wants to learn more about it, PM me or 2mchpwer, hes part of the group. we can all meet at my house if you want, i live 5 min from giants stadium. you can set up your car, empty it out of extra stuff you dont want rolling around, use the bathroom, etc. i have extra tape for car numbers, can bring a cooler/thermoses for drinks, whatever.
i talked to Tim a little at todays meet, we're trying to get more people into the autox/road race scene. theres alot more to racing then just drag. once you get bit by the handling bug, it becomes more addictive then just stab & steer.
