I can only imagine the frustration the Devil's staff feels at finding a way to ballance their own expenses (salaries) with the attendance level at the arena. As long as they keep winning, there will be fans wearing the merchandise. If they slide back to levels like Tampa, then the fan base will be gone and the team won't be able to afford playing in NJ. Kind of a catch 22 with them.
Having said all that, I'll be rooting for the Devils... from the comfort of my own basement. :P

Maybe. But the Isles don't have a problem selling tickets and they suck. And NY is just as expensive as NJ. The Rangers have a deep history, so its obvious they sell out every game. The Devils are indeed a good team, they just don't have a good backing and they never will. Not being in the middle of the Rangers/Flyers market. You should buy the Hockey News sometimes, you would see where I am coming from. There was a huge article in it a few months back saying the Devils would be well better off out of NJ. And it had way more pros than cons.
I don't hate the Devils either surprisingly(you guys have to play game with "sid rules too"; as I am a Flyers fan. All my hate is aimed at Pittsburgh and Toronto
