You obviously didnt understand our conversation on the phone.... I told you I can disable the knock sensor but there will be no protection against detonation. Therefore, we will have to back the timing down earlier and your mileage and driveability will suffer. If you are running a noisy mechanical flat tappet cam you are probably sacrificing power anyway. Technology has come a long way since 1969, take advantage of it. Also, the motor oils produced today do not have the same properties as they did when flat tappet cams were the norm, this has reaked havoc with cars still running that type of valvetrain so you would be eliminating that problem before it starts. You are obvoiusly trying to add driveability and mileage by converting to F.I. if you take that benefit out of the equation, all you are doing is giving up hp and adding aggrivation and extra cost to your project.
