by 'someone', do you mean the town? I know with Overbrook, thats what happened. The towns/county wanted it gone but couldnt legally knock it down, so they set fires and told the fire department to stay put until significant damage was done. This was all before the property was eventually bought and everything left was bulldozed sadly. I still have a ton of pics from the place though
