jersey - i think you are looking at pulling the axle out from what i can decipher. i don't know how the gear comes off but maybe someone can chime in? and while you have it apart, and if it is possible, leave it off. i didn't know 4th gen rears came with traction controlled drum brakes. unless its out of something else...
A block of wood might help, but I would rather pull the axles. It's not much work, and it means that there is no way to hurt that differential.

I think his rear drum brakes are just the stock 3rd gen brakes mounted on a 4th gen replacement axle, am I right Jersey?
