You're right about Crosby. I myself don't see the big fuss about him and thats coming from a Penguins fan. I actually like Malkin and Staal and Fleury the best on the team. But as far as the whole thing about fake fans, can't the same be said about the Devils? I mean I thought I heard that attendance was horribly bad a year or two ago. Then when they make it to the first round playoffs this year, I was not there, but I would have guessed that people were packed into the new rink at Newark. Like I said, I am not sure about these things, but I thought thats what I've heard from some other hockey fans I talked to.
I am not nor ever been to Pittsburgh myself, which accounts for me not knowing that about Pens fans. I would have guessed that there would be a legacy of fans that would watch the games because of the franchise's history with players like Lemieux. Guess not. But I've always been a Pittsburgh and Detorit fan since I started watching back in the early 90s. I'll admit I liked Detroit initially because they were winning a lot and had a great list of players. But unlike most people that like flavor of the month teams, I actually stuck with liking them, even when they lost. As for Pittsburgh, Lemieux is who got me hooked. My problem with any NY teams is that they always flaunt how good they are and play it off like they always have the best teams in most sports. Thats the way I see them. Its a big turnoff for me, but thats just my opinion. I mean the Yanks with their rich history of great players, as well as the Giants, especially since winning the super bowl, and the Rangers getting Gretzky and Messier at one point. The Knicks are a different story though. Ewing was like the last good player I remember hearing about. NY just flaunts too much for me. Even the city itself. I've been there a decent amount of times, and I fail to see how its conisdered the best city in the world. But thats another story. I am not trying to upset NY fans or NY people. Its just my opinion. I know people think awful things about NJ.
