I am not a band wagon fan. I just started watching hockey again, not because my teams were doing good, but just because I wanted to start watching again. Anyway, I started watching again last season, so its not as if I am just watching again to root for my winning teams.

And only you said I know nothing about the sport. I never said that I know nothing about it. You may think I know nothing about the sport, but that just proves your a fan boy who likes to pick on people who aren't as smart as you. I said I haven't watched hockey in a while and I got out of touch with it. I am not completey clueless as you think. I know Philly hasn't won the cup since the 74-75 season.
See, I know that much. And that much has got to hurt a fan like you. Sure they got better this season, but as long as there are free agents and multiple trades, no team is safe. I realize that Pittsburgh and Detroit may not be as good next year. Well maybe not Detroit because they are always good, but Pittsburgh may not be. But I'll still like them like I have since I started watching hockey back in the early-mid 1990s. Thus, I am not a bandwagon fan. Just because I stopped watching for a while doesn't mean I stopped being a fan.

I am not trying to start with you, but you condescend me with your recent post, and no one likes that. I don't doubt that many people love either the Rangers or Devils on this board, but I am sure they like other teams too.
I am glad however that you acknowledged that Mario saved the Pens. I devoted a whole term paper to that myself. He did more than just save the Pens. He saved a good portion of Pittsburgh with his power in the city.

I tend not to believe that Pens fans come out of the woodworks. Thats like saying most fans come out of the woodworks for most teams that haven't been doing well. And as for the cross state rivalry, I already stated in another post that I understand that. But I don't understand NJ hockey fans being against Pittsburgh. No one wants to see their team losing all the time. Of course attendance records are going to be low at Pittsburgh in past years for that reason. And of course fans are going to flood into the arena when they start doing good again. Thats with any sport. It is a give and take relationship with teams and their fan bases. Sure its Pittsburgh's fans job to keep their teams above ground, but it is also Pittsburgh's job to keep their teams strong and to make the fans happy too. There may have been a time when Pens fans came close to letting the franchise die out, but it's the Pen's job as a team to fix that problem.

You can take solace in the fact that Philly did as good as they did this season without getting top draft picks like other teams, and thats fine. But to act bitter about Pittsburgh getting good picks isn't fair. Every team should sooner or later get good players on their team. It was just Pittsburgh's time to get good players. I'd love to see how much Flyers fans get bashed when their time comes.

By the way, you did come off a little prickish in your most recent post and you didn't put me in my place. You just tried showing off your knowledge to me, assuming my knowledge is limited, which isn't the case. I never claimed to have known a lot since only watching a few games as of recently. You said that, not me. Watch for how you word things.

What parts of my posts lead you to think that I know nothing about Hockey? Just because of my lack of knowledge as to why Pittsburgh and Detroit don't play a lot during the regular season and why NJ hockey fans on here don't like Pittsburgh? Or was it something else I said?
